The NAACP Springfield branch held a community casino forum Thursday night with MGM Resorts International and Penn National Gaming.
Residents met with the two companies vying to build a casino in Springfield at the Spring of Hope Church.
Those who attended say they're interested to learn how the casinos' projects will include and impact communities of color and city residents.
"We're looking for who is looking to give the best jobs possible, who wants the workers to have a collective voice, who's going to allow their workers to organize, who's going to make a commitment to hire local and who's going to be the better partner," said Calvin Feliciano.
Representatives from both companies gave a presentation on their projects.
Residents were then given an opportunity to speak during a question and answer session.
