Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies have found parts of a body in a storm drain near 43rd Avenue and Broadway Road on the southwest border of Phoenix.
Workers cleaning the drain called deputies to report finding what they believed to be a body at the bottom of the drain before it enters the main artery of the drain system, according to Officer Chris Hegstrom of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Phoenix Fire Department investigators and deputies entered into the drain at daybreak and began bringing parts of the body up to the street.
MCSO detectives and a dive unit were continuing to search for additional body parts.
No other information was immediately available.
