Home invasion in Springfield under investigation

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Police are investigating a pre-dawn home invasion that saw three men steal an unspecified amount of marijuana.

CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican reported that the assailants kicked down the door at 116 Westford Ave.

One of the three was armed with a hammer.

The trio covered their faces with bandanas and sped away in a black SUV.

During the incident, one of the three men punched a female resident in the face.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Springfield Police Department's detective bureau.
