Yankee Candle founder in hospital after stroke

BOSTON (WSHM) -

Michael Kittredge is in a Boston hospital after suffering a stroke.

According to his family, he is in stable condition after going through surgery to take pressure off his brain on Wednesday.

The Holyoke native founded Yankee Candle in 1969 and sold it for $500 million in 1998.

He currently helps his son who owns Kringle Candle in Bernardston, MA.
