Hadley police respond to broken gas line

HADLEY, MA (WSHM) -

A call came in at approximately 10:30 a.m. near Applebee's on Route 9 in Hadley about a broken gas line.

Upon arrival, the fire department confirmed a second gas line had been completely severed.

Hadley police shut down both east and westbound lanes of Route 9 for about an hour.

Area businesses, including Applebee's and Staples, will remain closed until gas is turned back on at approximately 1 p.m.

The Hadley fire department is standing by on the scene until Berkshire Gas secures the line.

Route 9 has re-opened to traffic.
