Police are investigating a shooting that was reported Saturday afternoon, however it apparently happened Friday night.
Capt. William Collins told CBS 3 that police were called to Mercy Medical Center around 12:15 p.m. Saturday. That is when an 18-year-old male showed up with a gunshot wound in his upper right thigh.
Collins said the shooting occurred in front of Eldridge Street, in the city's Forest Park neighborhood.
The 18-year-old saw people running after what he thought was a firecracker had gone off.
It turned out he was shot and he went to the hospital when the pain got worse.
