Bright Nights Ball held in downtown Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

People from across Western Massachusetts made their way downtown for the annual Bright Nights Ball.

The black-tie event was held Saturday night at the Sheraton Hotel and was sponsored by Mercy Medical Center.

The money raised through the ball supports many events put on by the Spirit of Springfield, including the World's Largest Pancake Breakfast and Star Spangled Springfield.

The Spirit of Springfield group is a private, nonprofit organization.
