No world record was set, but close to 200 people made their way out to the Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday morning.
The Mass Mutual Center and the Basketball Hall of Fame put on what they had hoped would be the world record for the largest game of knockout.
They would have needed 572 participants to make that happen.
Organizers said the event was still a success as they got to spread the word about next year's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament in Springfield.
The winner of Saturday's game of knockout was Michael VanderZwaag, 16, from Pittsford, NY.
He happened to be visiting his grandmother in Amherst and they decided to take a trip to the Basketball Hall of Fame Saturday morning.
VanderZwaag won a gift pack valued at $500.
