Ludlow standoff victim arraigned in Hampden Superior Court

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A former Springfield police officer who ended up shooting himself after a seven-plus hour standoff in Ludlow was arraigned in Hampden Superior Court today.

George Stuart pleaded not guilty to burning of a dwelling charges.

He was released on $250 cash bail that he paid when he was in district court.

Stuart was previously held at Baystate Medical Center because the judge said he was a threat to himself and others.

He is now being kept on a GPS and has a curfew.
