If the weather gets too rough over the next couple of days, it could be a busy time at Barnes Air National Guard Base.
Officials told CBS 3 that should the winds from Sandy reach hurricane force during the storm, they will likely have to move their F-15s off the base.
They said the last thing they want to have happen is flying debris damaging one of the planes.
"Generally, they will move them out to a base in Illinois or somewhere out in the Midwest," said Lt. Col. Christopher Plonka of the 104th Fighter Wing. "The base commanders are going to work with their civil engineering staff and determine what other preparations are required to secure any large objects on base."
Plonka is the starting point, as he will be the one to make the initial recommendation on whether or not the F-15s are moved off the base.
