Westover Air Reserve Base will once again serve as a FEMA staging area.
It is the third time the Chicopee base will host FEMA for all of New England.
Westover officials say the FEMA staging team will arrive on Saturday.
On Sunday into Monday, 77 tractor trailers will arrive loaded with meals, cots, bottled water, generators, tarps and other emergency supplies, as FEMA prepares for Hurricane Sandy.
Westover is a FEMA Incident Support Base, with an emergency plan in place for eight years.
In a release sent to CBS 3, Lt. Col. James Bishop said the base is chosen for its "size, location and support network."
"This event is unique because of the number of trailers and the FEMA presence, but this is also another facet of what we do best: stage and move massive amounts of cargo anywhere in the world," he said.
