
Police officers responded to a fatal one-car crash just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
In a statement, the Westfield Police Department told CBS 3 the crash happened on Shaker Road, near the Shaker Farms Country Club.
Police said the operator, who was the only person in the vehicle, was traveling east when they lost control going around a curve.
The vehicle hit a tree on the passenger side and the operator, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver's identification has not been released as police notify next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
