NORTHAMPTON, MA (WSHM) -

The television show Scrubs aired 182 original episodes and Zach Braff was front and center for most of them.

Saturday, the TV star lent his name to the campaign trail.

Braff traveled across the state on behalf of Democratic senate candidate Elizabeth Warren.

CBS 3 caught up with the actor in Northampton, where he greeted supporters.

Most of his day was spent on college campuses including an event Saturday night at UMass.

Braff said his message to the students is to just get out and vote.

"Wednesday is the deadline to register," said Braff. "If I can say to college students who are notorious for procrastinating, as I was and am, you are running out of time. Wednesday is the day. So, you have got to participate."

Braff said he was not always political, especially during his college years at Northwestern, which is part of the reason he is working to change that with other college students.
