West Springfield to look into impact of a Springfield casino

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Officials want to know what kind of impact a possible Springfield casino would have on their city.

According to our media partner, Mass Live and The Republican, West Springfield has appointed three town councilors to a committee, to study what the effects might be if a casino is across the river.

The idea behind the committee is for West Springfield to be proactive rather than reactive.

Councilors believe a Springfield casino could affect the city's roads, bridges, police, businesses, homes and schools.
