New military website offers advice for military parents

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

There's a new website that works to help military families deal with a deployment.

The site is stayingstrong.org and is based in Massachusetts.

It helps children get through a parent's military deployment.

It also helps service members return to family life.

This site is connected to "the home base program," which helps veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan recover from post-traumatic stress disorder.

There are about 13,000 military-connected children in Massachusetts.
