Mercy Medical Center held a blessing of the animals on Tuesday.
The hospital invited owners and their pets of every kind, including service and farm animals, to receive a blessing.
The event was held to mark the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, which is celebrated on Oct. 4.
Organizers say they have the event because animals can play a significant role in the recovery of their patients.
