The 2012 edition of the Big E may be over, but not before a record was broken.
With Sunday's attendance of 77,705 people, the Big E's one year all-time attendance record now stands at 1,365,896.
That beats the old record set in 2009 by more than 105,000 people.
Country music star Alan Jackson wrapped up Big E festivities Sunday night, putting on a sold-out concert at the Comcast Arena.
Jackson ended a star-studded final weekend at the fair.
Ventriloquist comedian Jeff Dunham also played to a sold-out arena Saturday night.
