A new tool to aid first responders made its debut Saturday at the Colonial Harvest Day Festival.
The mobile disaster field kitchen is the latest vehicle in the arsenal of the Greater Westfield and Western Hampden County Medical Reserve Corps.
The kitchen will be used to feed folks on the front line who assist during times of natural disasters, power outages and fires.
The unit is completely independent on power and can feed more than 200 people within 90 minutes.
The medical reserve corps had been accepting donations and saving its money for the kitchen during the past three years.
The group relies heavily on its volunteers.
