A fire at a Springfield home is being called suspicious after the owner told city police that two guns are missing from his home.
The fire happened at 42 Kerry Dr. and broke out just before 12:30 Friday morning. The owner of the home was working at the time.
The homeowner told police two Smith & Wesson handguns and other items are missing from the house.
A state police accelerant-sniffing dog was at the scene. The intense flames caused the roof to collapse.
Fire officials say the house is a total loss. The American Red Cross is now assisting the family.
