Buzzer-beater not enough as UMass loses by a point - CBS 3 Springfield - WSHM

Terrell Vinson's foot was on the line as he sunk a buzzer-beater, and UMass lost to La Salle on Saturday by a point, 72-71.
The loss drops UMass to 18-8 overall, and 7-5 in Atlantic-10 play.
With UMass down three and under 10 seconds left, Chaz Williams missed a 3-pointer but got his own rebound, and passed it to Vinson, who stepped back and hit a shot as the final buzzer sounded.
Vinson and UMass celebrated as if he had tied the game and forced overtime, but the referees reviewed the play, and determined Vinson's foot was on the line, meaning it was only a 2-pointer.
