Senator Stanley Rosenberg says it appears that a final casino bill could be passed by Thanksgiving.
The Amherst democrat plays a key role in negotiations at the statehouse.
He was recently appointed to the six-member house and senate committee which will work out the casino bills passed by both branches.
The committee must settle differences over how much influence surrounding communities would have in determining whether a proposed casino is built.
The bill allows the state to license up to three resort style casinos and one slot parlor.
