Dee Brown will not return to the Springfield Armor this season.
Brown told CBS 3 Springfield's Ezra Broder via e-mail that he's taking a position with the NBA's Detroit Pistons as an assistant coach.
Brown was head coach and general manager of the Armor for the team's first two seasons in the NBA D-League. Springfield went 20-80 in those seasons.
The Armor's basketball operations are now run by the NBA's New Jersey Nets, with whom the Armor has a hybrid relationship.
The Nets named Milton Lee as their general manager of minor league operations in August. His duties include selection of the Armor's head coach and coaching staff as well as assembling the Armor roster for the upcoming 2011-12 season.
