Big E 2013

Inside the Big E Circus

It's a high flying act at the Big E. The annual Super Circus is in town! Amazing acrobatics you don't want to miss. Animals you see only in zoos right up close and in person! And of course, the shenanigans.

It's a tradition that's been kept alive for more than 40 years. The brainchild behind it is none other than Big E president Wayne McCary. McCary started booking acts for the circus and now, even though he's running the fair, his passion still lies under the big top.

"People have come to notice the Big E circus is a powerful one during the 17 days of the fair, 100,000 people attend the show each year," says McCary.

Before these acrobats hit the Big E stage, Wayne must see them in person. He's traveled around the world, scouting, to bring these very acts to the masses.

Some are from Europe, and South America.

"You see them for the first time under the Big E tents, but oftentimes, you'll see them again," says McCary.

Performers who appear at the Big E also perform in shows like the Greatest Show on Earth and The Big Apple Circus.
