Mike Skurko - CBS 3 Springfield - WSHM

Mike Skurko joined the CBS 3 Springfield team in September 2009 as the weekend meteorologist. He is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and previously worked as a meteorologist in Ohio.

Mike attended Penn State University and received a degree in meteorology, specializing in weather forecasting and communications. There he was broadcasting the weather for a few local cable stations, the national Palestra College Network, and completed internships at KDKA and WTAE in Pittsburgh. While in Happy Valley, Mike also worked as a graphics producer for "Weather Whys," a segment on the Pennsylvania Cable Network's daily show "Weather World." The segment received a national Telly Award for Local Television Nature/Wildlife Program in 2008.

Mike still cheers on all teams black-and-gold...the Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers...and is an avid golfer and baseball player. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society, and says he is excited to stay in the Northeast to continue enjoying and forecasting all four seasons.
