LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - Police have recovered a vehicle suspected
of jumping a red light during a drag race, striking a 12-year-old
boy at a Lowell crosswalk and fleeing the scene.

Lt. Timothy Crowley said Thursday investigators are examining
damage on the car found in Methuen and will be interviewing
suspects.

He said the victim, Kelvin Savanhmixay of Lowell, is in stable
condition with internal and other injuries.

Crowley says the car that struck the boy threw him more than 20
feet on impact at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The second vehicle
stopped briefly and one person got out and spoke to a witness
before also fleeing.
