Tolls to rise Sunday on many NYC bridges, tunnels

By CBS 3 Springfield/AP

NEW YORK (AP) - Drivers are about to pay more to use many New
York City bridges and tunnels.
Tolls are set to rise by 10 percent at 3 a.m. Sunday on the nine
crossings controlled by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
They include the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge - formerly the Triborough
Bridge - the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and the Queens Midtown and
Brooklyn-Battery tunnels.
The toll amounts vary by crossing, type of vehicle and whether a
driver has an E-ZPass or other discount. Cash rates will be as high
as $11 for passenger cars on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. That
toll, now $10, is imposed in only one direction.
