Thunderstoms unleash lightning, rain in Mass.

By CBS 3 Springfield News

BOSTON (AP) - A man has been struck by lightning and traffic
problems reported as thunderstorms move across Massachusetts.

Upton Police Chief Michael Bradley says a woman reported her
husband was struck by lightning early Thursday. He said the man was
conscious and breathing and was taken to Milford Regional Hospital
for evaluation.

State Police Lt. David Wilson says the rain backed up traffic
along parts of the Massachusetts Turnpike as well as Route 20 in
the Grafton, Milbury, Auburn and Charlton areas. Floods were
reported in parts of the state.

A National Weather Service flash flood warning covering parts of
Worcester, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bristol and Plymouth
counties expires shortly after noon. A flash flood watch ends at 8
p.m.
