Northampton Man Shot in Springfield

Springfield Police are investigating an early morning shooting that left a Northampton man injured.
Springfield Police say at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, a bartender at the Chessmen Lounge on Dwight Street reported gunshots in the parking lot.
When they arrived on the scene, no one was there.
But they later learned a man had been taken to Baystate Medical Center in a private vechicle with a gunshot wound to his torso.
After interviewing the victim, they learned he and four other people were in the parking lot when they were approached by another man.
They say the man started shooting.
Police continue to investigate.
The victim is expected to be okay.
