Doctors sued in hospital crash

By CBS 3 Springfield News

BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - A lawsuit filed by the widow of a doctor
killed when a cancer patient crashed her car into Brockton Hospital
claims the driver had complained to her physicians about suffering
dizzy spells while driving.

The lawsuit filed in Plymouth County Superior Court and made
public for the first time on Wednesday blames Jane Berghold's four
doctors and the medical practice for which they worked for the
death of Dr. Mark Vasa and Susan Plante last October.

The suit says the doctors never warned the 77-year-old Berghold
against driving while on powerful prescription drugs.

A lawyer for the doctors and medical practice, Compass Medical
in Abington, refused comment on the suit.

Berghold was sentenced to 18 months of probation after pleading
guilty to motor vehicle homicide.
