Police Investigating Lowell Sub Shop Beating

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - Police are investigating the beating death of a man found in sub shop in Lowell after an apparent fight.

Lowell Police responded to Santoro's sub shop on Gorham Street in Lowell for reports of a fight at about 2 a.m. Sunday. When police arrived, they found the victim was unresponsive. Police said
the victim's injuries were consistent with an apparent beating.

Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said the victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Lowell Police and Massachusetts State Police are continuing the
investigation.
