Oui, Montreal tops in new Monopoly game

By CBS 3 Springfield News

EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (AP) - Bye bye, Boardwalk.

Montreal has snagged the most expensive spot on a new global
version of Monopoly. The Quebec city will be joined by more than 20
other international cities when Monopoly Here & Now: The World
Edition goes on sale later this month.

The choice of Montreal was announced last night by Hasbro Games,
the East Longmeadow-based division of Hasbro. The company says 6
million votes were cast during an online contest to name the cities
featured on the global edition of Monopoly.

The Latvian capital Riga grabbed the second most expensive deed
held by Park Place in the traditional game.

Other cities featured include Cape Town, Jerusalem, London,
Paris, New York, Rome and Taipei.

"Chance" and "Community Chest" cards will highlight global
cultural fare, from Brazil's Carnival celebration to Ireland's St.
Patrick's Day festival.
