NH man denies role in Mass. double slaying

By CBS 3 Springfield News

WOBURN, Mass. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has told a jury he had
nothing to do with the killing of his ex-lover's husband and
another man at a Wakefield, Massachusetts, concrete company in
2006.

Sean Fitzpatrick took the witness stand at his double murder
trial in Middlesex Superior Court Wednesday.

Fitzpatrick admitted having an affair with Michelle Zammitti
while they were neighbors in Freedom, New Hampshire, but denied
fatally shooting her husband, 39-year-old Michael Zammitti.

Prosecutors say Fitzpatrick drove from New Hampshire to
Wakefield on March 13, 2006 and shot Michael Zammitti at his
concrete plant. Authorities say Fitzpatrick also shot and killed
Chester Roberts, a handyman for Zammitti's company.

Fitzpatrick said he was at home asleep at the time.
