Just days after a roommate dispute leaves one man dead, another man is in critical condition after his roommate allegedly stabbed him.

Springfield police were called to 121 San Miguel Street just before one-thirty Tuesday morning.

When they arrived they found the victim lying on the couch covered in blood. The man said his roommate, 50 year old Andrew Phelan, had stabbed him in the chest.

Phelan was arrested on scene, and police say alcohol may have been a factor. The victim is in critical condition but is expected to survive.
