The line was out the door, and through the parking lot. Hundreds packed the Hafey Funeral home on Belmont Ave Thursday afternoon. The wake was for Conor Reynolds, the soccer star, who was killed over the weekend, in a Springfield bar.

"I was always friends with him. He lived down the street. His dad was my soccer coach, so we were always together," says Tyrell Stewart.

Stewart is one of Conor's lifelong friends. He came straight from school to say his last goodbyes.

"He loved soccer. The move I use is the one he taught me, and he always used to mimic me when we were in the backyard. He loved soccer and he was the reason I started playing soccer," he says.

They met on the soccer field and it was friendship that lasted for years after the games were over.

"Soccer was definitely his passion and getting into AIC was a big thing for him," Stewart says.

But for Conor, the games never ended. Friends remember the Cathedral High star who played on, in soccer and in life.

"I have a couple jerseys from back in our playing days. I have one hanging in my room right now, so I'm always going to remember Conor, definitely," Stewart says.

Reynolds' funeral will be held Friday at 11am at the Holy Name Church in Springfield.
