A Springfield woman charged with stabbing her boyfriend to death has been ordered held without bail.

Rosa Ramsey pleaded not guilty Monday to murder in death of
35-year-old Corey Melvin.

Authorities say the 44-year-old Ramsey stabbed Melvin some time
between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sunday during a domestic dispute but
didn't call police until about 2:30 p.m.

Police at the scene noted that Ramsey was injured. She was taken
to the hospital for treatment of stab wounds to her legs and was
arrested there after an interview with police.

Ramsey's lawyer said in Springfield District Court that his client acted in self-defense and took so long to call police because she was in shock.
