A dog on a walk rescued a couple of puppies in East Longmeadow.
The 10 week old blue-nosed pit bulls were abandoned in a watershed area. It's lucky, they were found because they're not doing so well.

Dawn Herbele, Animal Control Officer in East Longmeadow, said, "They're very sweet, very sick. They have Parvo, a deadly disease. One is not doing so well but we're hoping for the best. The other one is doing okay."

It's clear they were not in a good home. Parvo is a disease that is easily treated with a vaccine right when they're born but it did not happen in this case.

If you have any information about who abandoned the puppies, please call East Longmeadow Police.

If the puppies do survive, they already have a home to go to but there are many more puppies in local shelters looking for loving homes.

If you can not adopt but would like to help. The organization that is helping the puppies get better, as well as many other animals, is Pound Hounds.
