A Hampshire County woman and her pack of dogs are hoping to bring people back to nature by taking them on a tour through the snow.

Marla BB doesn't only sing to her dogs.

The blues singer fell in love with Alaskan huskies when she traveled to Alaska in 2008 to sing the Star Spangled Banner for the famous sled race.

Marla say's she felt a connection with the dogs and knew it was something she needed to bring back to the Hilltowns.

In fact, her pack of huskies has become part of her Chesterfield business, Hilltown Wilderness Adventures.

Marla BB says "I'm always exploring all these places with my dogs that people don't go to. There are so many treasures and gems."

So, during the winter months she brings people out on an invigorating rough and tumble ride to see mother nature.

BB says, "I'm unplugging them from their computers and plugging them back into the earth."

When BB's not taking people out with her dogs, you can still find her on the trails.

But, watch out. She'll be running hard.

BB says, "The part that is exciting for me is when I race. I'm working as hard as they are. I'm pedaling and I'm pumping and we all come back tired. That's the part I find personally rewarding."

What's also rewarding is coming home to the "dog yard" where BB spends hours bonding with her pack.

Of course sled dog tours are not the only thing on the menu at Hilltown Wilderness Adventures.

But, it's easy to see the dogs are close to her heart.

BB says, "You just hear the breath and the patter of their feet and I hear the running of the river or the whoosh of the snow. It's just me and them and, you know, we're moving. It's meditative."
