Anytime someone experiences a traumatic experience it changes their lives. Dr. Peter Bishop from Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer joined us live via Skype for HouseCalls to answer questions about how to recover from trauma.

Dr. Peter Bishop is a clinical psychologist at the Griswold Behavioral Health Center of Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer. He sees three general types of trauma: abuse and neglect, impersonal trauma like an act of God, and intentional trauma.

There are common issues that people experience after after living through these types of trauma. Many people have problems trusting other, isolate themselves and go into a depression. Wing Memorial has group therapy to help people overcome trauma and help to trust other people again.
