Hearing the news of this weekends attack on two delivery drivers is bringing back memories of Micheal Lind's son.

Corey Lind, who worked as a delivery driver for Domino's Pizza in Springfield, was lured to a location, robbed and killed by a Springfield man two years ago.

Lind has now developed a web page, coreyslaw.com and started a petition to hold companies accountable. He's since filed a lawsuit against Domino's.He says they didnt have enough safety policies in place to protect his son.

"80 percent of their income is done by their dirvers and they need to protect drivers out there, " says Lind.

Springfield police agree. They say the problem is far from over.

"We talk to delivery drivers all the time on what they should and shouldn't do, " explains Sgt. John Delaney.

In this weekend's case, the drivers were not injured, but both were approached by people who were armed. The first driver was robbed of his money, in the second case, the driver's food was stolen.

Sgt John Delaney says we are living in desperate times, and many people will go to desperate measures.

"They are getting away with food and just a few bucks. People doing this only score about five dollars and that's enough for a bag for heroin, " says Sgt. Delaney.

Since November seven differed delivery drivers were assaulted in springfield. Lind hopes more protection will help keep them alive and safe.

"My son had to lose his life, that's the wake up call, " says Lind.

The Springfield Police Department started the Corey Lind Safety Training Seminar a few years ago. They plan on hosting another one very soon.
