Senator-Elect Brown Meets Mayor Sarno

U.S. Senator-Elect Scott Brown dropped by Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno’s office for a visit Monday.

Mayor Sarno said Brown simply called him up and asked if he could swing by for a quick meet-and-greet. Monday’s agenda was mostly a casual conversation, allowing the two politicians to better know one another.

“It’s more of a get-to-know-you, just exchange pleasantries and exchange numbers” said Brown. “I’m not even sworn-in yet.”

They also joked around a little about Brown's latest television appearances, especially a recent spoof of Brown on "Saturday Night Live". Brown also expressed interest in the possibility of a basketball game with President Obama at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.

Brown and Sarno did talk a little business, but already seem to be on the same page in identifying the challenges that Springfield faces.

"Having been in the area before, I think everybody knows that jobs and job creation, revitalization of the area, and making sure they get their fair share of state and federal funding are some of the more important things." said Brown.
