With temps in the low teens jumping into an ice cold lake is the last thing one might think about doing today.
However, Hampton Ponds was packed with willing participants for the Penguin Plunge.
All those who jumped in the water did it for a good cause. The plunge went to benefit the the Amelia Park Children's Museum
According to the organizer, and someone who took the plunge, the event was a great success, despite the bitter cold temps.
CBS 3 Springfield's own Nick Morganelli was rocking the mic for the Chillin for the Children event.
