U.S. Senate candidate Michael Capuano visited the Greenleaf Community Center in Springfield on Monday. The congressman held the meet and greet event with Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno.

Capuano said Springfield has been very supportive of his campaign. With the primary election looming, he and Mayor Sarno still look to make friends with undecided voters.

"I know what local government needs, I know what state government needs." said Capuano. "We are fortunate to have the support of over 25 mayors in the state. Dominic has been a personal friend for a while and also a political supporter, as I am of his."

Primary elections for the Senate seat take place Tuesday. The general election will be held January 19th.
