Hundreds of people packed the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee to honor the memory of a local war hero, and raise money for a great cause.
"A Ray of Elvis Holiday Homecoming Concert" kicked off tonight. The goal- to help raise money for the wounded warrior project, and to remember Sgt. Mark Ecker of East Longmeadow.
Ecker lost both of his feet in Iraq two years ago, but lost his life in a tragic car accident over the summer. The wounded warrior project is a cause dear to Ecker's heart. The group helps severely wounded soldiers adjust to life back home. Part of the proceeds from tonight's concert will go to the project. Ecker's family says the concert is also a great way to celebrate his life.
