The cold weather sends people indoors to keep warm leading to a change of environment and shared spaces where germs lurk. For some people because of the change and pre-existing problems it can lead to breathing issues.

Lawrence Johnson, a Registered Respiratory Therapist and the Director of Cardio-Pulmonary Services at Wing Memorial joined us live on Tuesday via Skype. He says he and other doctors are very busy with people complaining of breathing difficulties. He says there are many factors, including Asthma and seasonal illness. He says the best advice is not to smoke, take your medication as your doctor prescribes and see a respiratory specialist.

Lawrence's recomendations really helped my COPD, and I've seen him as a patient at the hospital before. He's a talented and very personable RT! Wing is luky to have him.
