Emotions running high as parishioners reflected on the years of memories made inside their place of worship; memories made since 1893. "I remember growing up here my sister was married here, my parents, family events, activities, very active parish, so much we've done."
Rachel Bradford remembers it all. She basically grew up inside St. George Church. She and her family now forced to find a new place to worship. That decision is still up in the air for Bradford, and the entire St. George Community.
With St. Patrick's also in Chicopee Falls slated to close, parishioners fear they have no place to go in the area. "We have not been told where to go, so it's very unsure hasn't helped don't know where to go, aren't close by place to go. We haven't really accept us unsure."
But they are turning to their faith to guide them through this tough time. Parishioners are in the process of filing an appeal to the Vatican, hoping to save their church from closing for good at the end of the month. Parishioners say for now, they just need to believe.

This has been long in coming but to close a parish needed by many who cannot drive elsewhere is sad. Keep St. George open!
