The Springfield Armor basketball team kicks off its season this Friday night, but one last teammate needed to be named. Today, the D-league basketball team made an appearance at the Eastfield Mall in Springfield, and introduced fans to the brand new mascot. His name is Steel.
Steel will be pumping up the crowd at the Mass Mutual Center for the professional basketball team's home games.
Also on hand today, some players from the basketball squad and the Salvation Army. Its their busy holiday season, and will partner up with the Springfield Armor to raise donations.
The Springfield Armor take on Iowa this Friday night for the season opener at the Mass Mutual Center. Tickets are as low as five dollars a piece.
