A fire broke out at a recycling plant in Franklin County.

Six fire departments responded to the blaze at wTe Waste Recycling plant at 75 Southern Road in Greenfield.

Fire officials say as a train was passing by a conductor noticed fire coming out of one of the buildings.

No one was working at the junk yard at the time, so there were no injuries.

This is the second fire at the wTe waste recycling plant. The first one was much larger. In February of 2007, firefighters battled a blaze which engulfed hundreds of cars, stacked 20 feet high.

The fire spread so quickly 100 firefighters from three states joined in the attack They went row by row, putting out the car fires. Fortunately, the winds blew the smoke away from homes and businesses and no one was injured.
