H1N1 is at the top of the list of concerns for many people. We ask a Registered Nurse at Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer about getting the vaccine.

In our live Skype interview, we asked Jayne Heade, RN, how long the vaccine lasts in your system, and if you should be concerned about getting the vaccine when you plan to become pregnant. Heade says pregnant woman and those planning to get pregnant should get the vaccine. She says the immunization should last about a year.

Also, we found out if someone in your family has been diagnosed with H1N1 can you assume that everyone has been exposed. Heade says yes, you should assume everyone has been exposed but they should still get the H1N1 vaccine.

If you have a medical question you would like us to ask a doctor during a Skype interview, email us at housecalls@cbs3springfield.com.
