Wayne McCary, President of the Eastern States Exposition, joined kids from the West Springfield Boys and Girls Club Wednesday. McCary presented certificates and prizes to those successfully completing the LAUNCH program.

Every year, the Big E donates one percent of its revenue to the Big E/West Springfield Trust Fund. That money gets divided among non-profit organizations. The LAUNCH program is part of one of those organizations, called "Square One," which provides funding for local youth activities.

"It was a dream that we could make a difference in the life of kids in particular and the elderly in this community." said McCary. "I think when you see these youngsters light up the way they do this afternoon it's very rewarding."

LAUNCH provides weekly, 90-minute clinics to engage children in exercise and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
