It was men in heEls and aprons.

Mayor Sarno was just one of many men who participated in a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser at the Elks Lodge in Springfield.

The Men Can Cook event supported the Women's Build Campaign. The women are currently constructing a house on White Street.

The money they raise will help them purchase supplies.

Jennifer Schimmel, Executive Director for the Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity, says, "Our typical work site tends to be 25 percent women and 75 percent men. On a Women Build Project we ask that the roles be reversed so that women have the opportunity to be empowered to take on construction, leadership roles within that field."

Each male server waited on eight women per table. They hope to raise more than $5000.
